St1 stands for “Shots to 1”. This ranking system simply shows how many shots per round each player is behind the world number 1.

The women’s rankings are a rolling two year average to match the methodology used by the rolex rankings.

The men’s rankings are a decayed two year average to match the methodology used by OWGR. The datagolf rankings will be the most accurate reflection of each player’s true ability but the stated goal of the world golf ranking systems is to use an open methodology that most people can understand. Therefore, our St1 rankings will mimic the official ranking methodolgy to show how they can be improved but with a simple methodology. Our own datagolf style rankings may be released in the future but they do such a good job there seems little point.
